Family, History and Personality
Chase was adopted at the age of three into the Harlem family. Her adoptive parents already had one daughter Taylor two years older than Chase, and they were not able to have
any more children. They wanted very much for Taylor not to grow up as an only child which was why Chase was adopted.
The Harlem family were of American decent, but George Harlem, Chase's adoptive father was moved by his company to Japan to work. Chase, Taylor and their mother Helen moved too. Chase was
one of the original witnesses to the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon from Highton View Terrace. She forgot about the battle until she was eleven years old and she met Sulcromon. Sulcromon
had been under the orders of Myotismon to seek for the eighth child and stumbled into Chase entirely by accident. The two of them reacted to each other immediately. Sulcromon hid herself and Chase
from Myotismon fearing Chase was the eighth child and lived with Chase in the real world for four years. When Davis, Yolei, TK, Kari and Cody became the new generation of DigiDestined a
D3 also appeared from Chase's computer and the crest she should have originally received had she gone to the Digital World with the original eight.
As Chase was extremely shy at the time, she would only turn up on occasion to help if situations got sticky for the group of DigiDestined, but spent most of her time in the Digital World exploring
and discovering. She attended Odaiba High with Tai, Matt, Sora and Izzy though she did not socialise with them. She was quiet and gawkish, and found it difficult to make friends. She showed she had
excellent artistic skills and was often asked to paint back drops and sets for the performances of the Teenage Wolves. Chase rarely struck up conversation, but enjoyed listening to the band reherse and
being in the same vicinity as Matt, even if it was at a distance.
Because Chase cared for Matt more than she liked to admit, when she saw him and Sora together at the Christmas concert she reacted badly and wanted nothing than to disappear. She was offered a situation by
Azulongmon in the Digital World and Gennai, who explained that Chase's destiny was to be a benevolent sovreign over the Digital World to ensure that any more possible harm could be avoid by diplomacy. Feeling
it was her responsibilty, Chase accepted and she was never to return to the real world.
Her family mourned her, believing that she had been harmed and died in the events at the Christmas concert.
Chase is a naturally very calm and level-headed individual. The shyness and gawkishness of her teenage years is something she has shaken off as she has grown up. She is now much more confident in herself and this
shows. She is able to debate well, and has a fair mindedness to her that comes out when she is in the midst of descision making. She is considerate, and does not like to make rushed choices. This is also one of her weaknesses.
Though she is by no means slow to react, because she likes to think things through sometimes an issue can get much worse over the time she evaluates it and while she makes a descision. Chase is very mature and
always has been very mature for her age; and because of this she sometimes seems like a stick in the mud unable to enjoy herself or allow herself to have fun.
While she feels guilty about the fact she left her home and family in the human world and they believe her to be dead, Chase has learned the hard way not to look back, though there are some things in the past
that keep her there and keep her clinging on to it. She has an irrational fear of going back to the real world because of these; and made the choice that she would only return if there was dire need of her to do so.
Despite her good qualities of calm and level-headedness, Chase is also quite a stubburn woman and does not like to be questioned in her descision making. Though she is open to the opinions of others it can take a lot
for her to change her mind. Additionally, at moments when she lets her guard down, most often around Sulcromon she exudes a type of lonliness and sadness brought on by lack of human contact.

- Because Chase moved from America to Japan, she speaks both languages fluently.
- She is very formal, even when she doesn't have to be.
- Her greatest fear is to be forgotten, though she secretly knows this is inevitable when she dies.
- One of her biggest regrets is being too scared to tell the person she loved that she loved them, and she still does, though no one is aware of this. Sulcromon is very suspicious of it though.
