Family
Ebony's family life was fairly general. She was the only daughter to her parents, Michael and Juliette. Due to Michael's work as an over-seas journalist, Ebony was raised mostly by her mother and grandparents. When Ebony was ten, Juliette and her grandparents were killed in a pile up on the motorway. Three years later, Michael remarried, a woman named Lilly Furnam. Ebony had a family again, and a sibling for the first time. A younger sister from Lilly's previous marriage, Alexis.

History
Ebony was a pretty normal, happy child before her mother and grandparents died. She was well liked at school by teachers and other students. She friendly and out-going young person, who excelled in creative classes, but struggled in more mentally draining classes like math and science. However, she always persevered, and kept working to make her family happy, and in an attempt to get some recognition from her distant father.

Unfortunately a lot of that changed when the tragedy struck Ebony's life. Michael had to pick up the pieces of a now broken daughter he barely knew, and enlisted the help of his own parents to come over from Spain where they had settled when Michael had married. While Ebony forced herself to try and heal, and carry on at school and do her best, she became less of who she was. She started to withdraw, barely spoke in lessons and didn't make much effort to befriend people or accept their friendship. Despite seeing a counciller from a young age, Ebony didn't make much improvement at first.

By the time she was thirteen, Ebony had stopped seeing a counciller, convincing her father that she could cope without one. Michael saw that as a good sign, and decided to bring out his relationship with Lilly Furnam from the shadows. He had been keeping it a secret, until he felt Ebony could cope better. While Ebony appeared to be unphased by her father's relationship, she took an instant loathing to Lilly and became quite good at making dinner times awkward and uneasy whenever Lilly was around, by mentioning Juliette. Michael thought little of it, reprimanding his daughter each time she acted out. And by the time Ebony was fifteen they had married and moved to a larger house, the opposite side of London.

The move meant Ebony was forced to leave the few friends she did have and join a new, private school. She quickly settled and kept her head down, not making any effort to make new friends. She started to spend her days working at school, studying towards her GCSEs and spent her evenings at home, either closed up in her bedroom or baby sitting her new, spoilt little sister Alexis.
