Family
Vincent came from a typical middle class family. His father is a teacher and his mother a cleaner at the local primary school. His parents are divorced and he rarely see's his father. Vincent classes himself as an only child, but he does have a younger half-sister and half-brother from his father's new wife. Vincent has never met her, or his half-siblings and refuses to acknowledge them as family.

History
Since his dad first brought home a computer, Vincent has been fasinated by them. Not only how they work, but different makes and the different running systems. He loves seeing what the new and improved versions can do, above the older ones. The way he see's it, one can only see improvements when comparing something new to a much, much older design; so its unsurprising that Vincent's room is full of old computers; and old computer pieces.

Vincent's one of those kids who, at school, locks himself away in the computer lab, whenever he has a chance. Is extremely bright, so he hardly ever has to actually try at his work, and often gets pin pointed for teasing and bullying because of it. However, due to his lack of social nature, the bullying literally rolls off him like water off a ducks back. He either doesn't notice it, or ignores it. Which ever one it is, it infuriates everyone else around him. At home, he's not much better. He tends to just lock himself away in his bedroom, taking most, if not all of his meals in there.

His mother blames herself. When Vincent was eight, his parents marriage broke down; not through lack of trying. And the tight relationship he and his father had once shared, was destroyed when his father left the court, losing custody of Vincent, with a young lady, twenty years his junior. Being bright, it didn't take much brain power for Vincent to figure out what had happened, and that the marriage had broken down because of his father's disloyalty, rather than anything his mother, or he had done. Despite this, it was at this time that Vincent took to life in technology, rather than in the 'real world'. His mother can go for days without seeing his face, as he gets home from school before she gets home from work, and he often goes to bed much later than she does.

Because Vincent is so enclosed and anti-social, throwing him into a situation where he's the centre of attention, or he has to communicate with others, girls especially, coherantly knocks him for a loop. He can become tongue tied, very shy, and blushes easily under the scrutiny of a member of the opposite sex. In truth, Vincent would much rather talk through a guy, to a girl, than speak to the girl directly, to avoid abject humiliation.
