Family and Personality
Vincent is an only child though his parents did not intend for this to be. His mother, Maggie always wanted a large family but after giving birth to Vincent she developed aggressive ovarian
cancer three years later and had to have a radical hysterectomy and six months of chemotherapy. She has always regretted not being able to give Vincent a brother or sister
and blames herself for his withdrawn nature. She now works two jobs as a cleaner in a large office building at night, and three days as week as a cleaner in a hotel. His father, Stewart,
walked out on Vincent and his mother when she was going through chemotherapy. They had little to no contact from him until Vincent was ten and Maggie received a letter saying he was filing for
divorce and intended to remarry. He has requested to see Vincent several times, but Vincent refuses on moral grounds to see him or answer his emails. When Stewart left and Maggie was going through
the chemotherapy, Vincent was taken care of much of the time by his grandparents Freida and Martin. He adores his grandparents and is in constant contact with them.
It was clear from an early age that Vincent was bright, and when he was five he had his IQ tested. It came back at 172. He is a bonefied genius and has been challenged as such. He is logical, sensible,
practical and very much a perfectionst. Due to his IQ, Vincent has been moved up several grades in his school and is not afraid to show off his intelligence, much to the chagrin of his class mates.
He reads at a high level, and is already looking into taking entrance exams for the top colleges in the country. Being so bright has put a damper on his social development as he was moved through
grades so quickly he was never able, and has not really been able to make friends with anyone his own age. He is surrounded by people much older than himself and who do not like him for his condescending and
show-off nature. He withdraws himself quite often to his room where he tinkers with scientific formulas, or computer pieces to improve his own computer. He also spends much of his time on World of Warcraft
and is well liked in his guild
The only interaction he gets with kids his own age are those he plays soccer and road hocky with in his apartment building. Because none of them know of his high intellect, he is not treated any differently and does not
treat them as inferior. He becomes a very different person around his sports friends.
Despite his brains, Vincent is really quite oblivious to the obvious and has almost no consideration of common sense. He has an attitude problem and does not like to be told he is wrong, or treated like a child. When
either of these is done he becomes like a contreate block and does not move in his opinion or thinking. He is extremely stubborn when he thinks he's right and will not budge. He hates when he is wrong and won't admit it to save
loosing face. Because of his perfectionist nature, Vincent gets easily irritated by changes in his life that he isn't notified of and gets very disgruntled if his normal day-to-day life is disturbed.
